IMPORTANT

This is the outdated SI-documentation which will be adapted soon. A huge part may be obsolete!

Truncation Settings

Truncation settings dictates how much content is shown for each post on a blog listing. These settings affect several different blog listing layouts such as the blog frontpage, single category, single author listing and so on.

The general truncation settings for EasyBlog are located at EasyBlog > Settings > Layout > Truncation. These settings do NOT take priority over the following elements.

  • Readmore block/tags from within the post content
  • Truncation settings from menu items
  • Truncation settings from modules

Tip:

If you want to have separate truncation points for different blog posts, it is best to use readmore blocks/tags in posts as you may choose where to place them in the content.

Important

Besides truncating content, automated truncation also strips the HTML formatting of posts to safeguard against unclosed HTML tags.

Manually truncating your posts by having readmore blocks/tags in the content allows you to avoid using automated truncation and retain post HTML formatting.
