Overriding App Theme

Overriding App Themes

EasySocial allows you to override the default apps's theme with your Joomla template. This is ideal when you need to override the app's theme but do not want the updates to overwrite the changes.

Default Storage

Each app may have different storage path. App's theme can be located at the following folder:

/media/com_easysocial/apps/<GROUP>/<APP_NAME>/themes/

Overriding Themes

To create an override for your app's theme, simply create the new theme files in the following location:

/templates/<YOUR_JOOMLA_TEMPLATE>/html/com_easysocial/apps/<GROUP>/<APP_NAME>/

Note

YOUR_JOOMLA_TEMPLATE - This is referring to your current Joomla template.

GROUP - This should be the application's group. It could be a group or user or event or fields.

APP_NAME - This is the application element. For example, feeds, groups.

Example 1:

Lets override Group Blog app. The default storage path of this app's theme will be in the following folder:

/media/com_easysocial/apps/group/blog/themes/default/groups/default.php

So, the override folder in your template should be:

/templates/protostar/html/com_easysocial/apps/group/blog/groups/default.php

Example 2:

Lets override User Feeds app. The default storage path of this app's theme will be in the following folder:

/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/feeds/themes/default/profile/default.php

So, the override folder in your template should be:

/templates/protostar/html/com_easysocial/apps/user/feeds/profile/default.php
